Commercial Post

This was my first time ever creating an commercial so it was a bit of a learning process. It definitely brought me out of my comfort zone but I’m glad I got it done. I was planning on using Garage Band since I’m on a mac but there were some technical difficulties. First, the intro song would not play at all. After playing around with the settings I got it to play but it was playing at an accelerated speed making the intro song too short. After finally giving up on Garage Band I decided to use Audacity. This was also a learning curve but it was way easier to use than garage band. The only problem I had with Audacity is that it would not pick up my mic since it is not compatible with the latest version of macOS. To fix this issue, I recorded my voice using voice memos and then import it the audio. Before importing the audio, I had to convert my voice memo from m4a file to WAV file since Audacity did not support the m4a file. In Audacity, I use a total of three tracks to complete my commercial post. The first track has the intro song in which I used the studio fade out effect in order to bring the intro song to a fade and slowly flow into the “music bed”. In order to create the music bed for my narration I lower the volume to around -4.0db. Lastly, the third track holds my outro song in which I use the “studio fade in” in order to fade out and finish my commercial. Overall, this was an interesting assignment and although I did not enjoy I’m glad I got it done with. I can confidently say that narration is not for me.

Peanutized Myself

I decided to peanutized myself instead of the powerpuff girl creation since I grew up watching the Charlie Brown movies. Overall, the process of peanutizing myself was fun and simple. It took me about 5 minutes to complete the whole look. I believe I took most of the time deciding what I wanted my Peanut character to wear. I tried to make my character to resemble me as close as possible but due to the options they have it was challenge. Nonetheless, I think my character is loosely similar to me. This homework assignment brought nostalgia because I used to create character of myself when I was younger. I forgot what websites I used but it was very similar to the website I used to peanutized myself. One way in which the website can improve is adding more options to choose from and letting you create your own background. By adding more options to choose from, you can make your peanut character exactly like you. Also the idea of creating the background yourself can be beneficial because It’ll give the peanut character a more personalized setting. Another feature that can be added is the ability to customized Snoopy with different clothing accessories.

Memes – Kid Cudi

Memes have become an important part of our online culture. There’s pretty much a meme for every situation no matter how light or dark the situation is. Chances are you have created a meme yourself or even share one with friends and families. Memes can be beneficial to my website because it allows us to form another way in which we can relate to the topic. This is why memes that are relatable to you are often more funnier than those that are not. I decided to use the Kid Cudi humming meme because I’m a huge Kid Cudi fan and appreciate his music. The origin of the meme started based on the way Kid Cudi hums in his songs. He has signatures hums that he adds to his songs and it creates the perfect balance that flows with his verses and beats. The ‘Kid Cudi humming’ meme features Elmo as a nuclear bomb is going off in the background and an alien being lifted into his space ship. I believe the reason they chose these pictures to go along with the caption is because eccentric origins of the hum and the feeling you get when you hear it in his songs.
